On August 6, 1942, the day before the big Allied landings in the Tulagi-Guadalcanal area, Japanese Zero-float fighters (RUFEs) repeatedly bombed the Mission Station at Fo’ondo on Malaita’s North-Western coast with fatal results for its people.
